Public Widget

When off, the public widget hides the Leaflet map and only shows the trip-by-trip species log. Useful if you don't want to share the GPS locations of where whales were found.

Show live boat while on the water

While a trip is running, the widget shows a live banner with what you're currently watching, plus the boat's position and route on the map. The position is delayed (below) and snapped to a coarse grid, so the exact spot is never published.

How far behind the real boat the public map runs. Visitors still see the route unfold; nobody can steer to your spot in real time.

Use my send's top photo as the trip photo

Whichever photo you put first in a Flukesend send becomes that trip's photo on your public sightings page, a few minutes after you send. Nothing extra to do. Turn this off to keep guest photos off your public page, or to choose trip photos by hand in Past Trips.

When visitors tap a trip's Share button inside the widget, the shared link points here. Leave blank to share the bare widget URL on our domain instead.
